"You're surrounded by armed bastards!"


Harvey Keitel (pictured right) is portraying the character of Gene Hunt in the American version of UK hit "Life on Mars". The original role was played by Phil Glenister.
The kids of today will start thinking that Harvey Keitel is the definitive Gene H....
Oh. Never mind.

I've heard this is truely awful. Is this the case?? Surely if Harvey puts a bit of Bad Lieutenant in there, it can't be all nonse-sense.

No, it's not that bad actually.The problem is none of the new cast are as memorable as the original cast. Harvey's ok in the role...and a step up from Colm Meaney who played Hunt in the US pilot. Harvey plays it mean, dirty and grumpy. But he's missed they key ingredient that elevates Phil Glenister to Godhood; contempt. Pure contempt for all other human beings. It's why Blackadder works so well.
